Do you understand the consequences for continuing in sin?

This is a continuation to my last weeks teaching of "Do you know how foolish it is to continue in sin" and I am going to touch on Romans 1 starting from 18.

There are a lot of people/believers out there that continue in sin thinking that they are going to be alright and go to heaven. But we also have to look at what Hebrews 10:26-31 says about when we continue in sin. It says "Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. There is only the terrible expectation of God's judgment and raging fire that will consume his enemies. For anyone who refused to obey the Law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God's mercy to us. For we know the one who said, 'I will take revenge. I will pay them back.' He also said, 'The Lord will judge his own people.' It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

v.26 "if we deliberately continue sinning" here we see the author of Hebrews here speaks of those that have fallen away from Christ by which he warned his readers in 6:4-8 "For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened-those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come-and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame. When the ground soaks up the falling rain and bears a good crop for the farmer, it has God's blessing. But if a field bears thorns and thistles, it is useless. The farmer will soon condemn that field and burn it."

v.29 "Trampled on the Son of God" To keep on sinning deliberately after we have learned the truth is to be guilty of trampling on the Son of God, our Lord Jesus, treating Him with contempt and despising His life and death, to count His blood as unworthy of our loyalty, and to insult and rebel against the Holy Spirit, who brings god's grace to our hearts."

v. 30-31 "The Lord will judge his own people" Just think of the severe punishment that awaits those that turn away from their relationship with Christ. Anyone who has considered or considering apostasy should remember: "It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living judge."

Apostasy: a total desertion of or departure from one's religion, principles, party, cause, etc.

So for all of the "once saved always saved" believing people, you must read what the scriptures say. There is plenty more scriptures that talk about this and if you listen in to my broadcast "The Body of Christ" On-Demand at any time,  I will be touching more on this subject, it will be more of a continuation to last weeks teaching on "Do you know how foolish it is to continue to sin" But don't get mad at me for telling the truth, I didn’t say it till after God has said it in His word. I say that his word is truth.

"Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches"
